Day 1 - Furnas & Vila Franca do Campo

Continue towards Miradouro de Santa Iria, a stunning viewpoint offering panoramic vistas of the island’s northern coastline. The tranquil atmosphere here makes it the perfect spot to pause and enjoy the scenery.

Visit Fábrica de Chá da Gorreana, the oldest tea plantation in Europe. Here, you’ll learn about the ancient tea-making process and have the chance to sample the finest locally grown green and black teas.

Head to Miradouro Pico do Ferro, where you’ll be greeted by awe-inspiring views of the Furnas Valley and the iconic Furnas Lake. This viewpoint offers a peaceful moment to reflect on the natural wonders that surround you.

Next, explore the Caldeiras of Furnas - City Center, where you can witness geothermal activity, fumaroles, hot springs, and naturally sparkling waters. Take a leisurely walk through the public garden to appreciate the volcanic history of the area.

Head to Lake of Furnas - Parque da Grená, where you can enjoy scenic walking trails around the serene lake. The peaceful ambiance of the park invites you to relax and take in the island’s lush nature.

Continue to Lagoa do Congro, a tranquil lagoon nestled in the forest. This idyllic spot offers a perfect setting for a leisurely walk or quiet reflection, surrounded by the island’s lush greenery.

Drive towards Caloura Pool, next to a lovely seaside restaurant known for its fresh, locally sourced seafood. Enjoy a dip in the beautiful water of the south coast.

Finally, make your way back to Santa Bárbara Eco-Beach Resort, enjoying the peaceful drive and reflecting on the unforgettable sights and experiences of the day.

Day 2 - Sete Cidades & Mosteiros

Leave Santa Bárbara Eco-Beach Resort towards Sete Cidades.

Start at Miradouro do Pico do Carvão, where you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the island’s volcanic landscape and tranquil lakes. A perfect moment to capture the beauty of São Miguel.

Continue to Muro das Nove Janelas, a historic structure once part of the island's aqueduct system. This hidden gem offers a glimpse into the island’s past, ideal for history enthusiasts.

Head to Lagoa do Canário / Walking Trail Grota do Inferno, where a serene lake surrounded by dense forest awaits. Continue on the trail to the Grota do Inferno viewpoint, offering breathtaking views over three different lakes in Sete Cidades. A peaceful moment to enjoy the untouched beauty of the island.

Day 3 - Nordeste & Povoação

Leave Santa Bárbara Eco-Beach Resort towards Nordeste. Embark on a tranquil adventure exploring the eastern beauty of São Miguel Island.

Begin with Salto da Farinha Waterfall, a mesmerizing cascade flowing into a serene valley. The misty air and lush surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for unforgettable photos.

Move on to Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeirões, a stunning natural reserve filled with waterfalls, rich greenery, and peaceful walking trails. Take your time to immerse yourself in the park’s tranquil beauty.

Continue to the Miradouro do Farol do Arnel, one of the island’s most iconic viewpoints. From here, you’ll see the dramatic cliffs and the Atlantic. Consider hiking down to the Arnel Lighthouse for a closer look at this historic beacon.

Return to Santa Bárbara Eco-Beach Resort via the scenic south coast, enjoying breathtaking landscapes. Optionally, stop at Poça da Dona Beija in Furnas to relax in the thermal waters, open until 10 PM, with tickets available online.
